This is a collection of thoughts and statements about things that annoy me. I am a big, angry man. Hear me roar, or piss off and give me peace.

Common fucking courtesy.

It's common fucking courtesy to stand out of the way when you and your pals stop to chat in a thoroughfare. Don't look so fucking hard done by when I stand on you, clip you with my bag or body, as I try (not very hard) to squeeze by. You stood there, in the narrowest part of the pavement making no fucking effort to stand to the side. It's not fucking rocket science.

It's common fucking courtesy to stand in at a bus stop. Or stand out. Just don't stand blocking the whole fucking pavement.

It's also common courtesy to at least try to have some semblance of spatial awareness - were I a mugger, I'd have already got your wallet, bag, purse, phone, whatever. Not merely walked hurriedly round you, whilst trying to give you a look that conveys the annoyance you have caused by stepping out of a shop right in front of me, to stop, and look around like the idiot you are.

The Beeb is reporting that Edinburgh cuntcil are talking about an express pedestrian lane on Princes St. That's a magic idea. It certainly beats what I saw a jakey bastard doing one day on Princes St, which was just walking at high speed into everyone, and swearing at them.

That all said, it's always amusing to "do the dance" walking down the street, trying to avoid someone walking towards you, who is trying to avoid you. You know exactly what I mean.

I thought that was what the south side of the street was for. You know, the one without any shops on.

w about widening the pavement on Nicolson Street? Or moving the bus stops... or at least reducing their number... Princes street is wide. Nicolson Street isn't.

Like patrick, I use the South Side of the street for that.

I can't see it really working when the street is Busy. Leading to even more frustration as people wander over into the "fast lane".

Also any article that uses evidence of "A recent survey by Nurofen found that 71% of people are often irritated by crowded streets." is enough to seriously get me annoyed.

Although the idea of fast lane is nice. I usually have my bicyle and take my chances with buses on the road...

I think the people that annoy me most are the ones that stop just as they step off an escalator or at the top of steps to extend the handle on their luggage. Couldn't they walk five feet carrying the damn thing so they're out of everyone else's way?

I'd ban people with umbrellas. And people with children's buggies. Or just people with children...

I swear someone deliberately dipped their umbrella and battered me with it. I have no idea what the hell they were thinking.

Also, when I am walking towards the brolly using morons on Morrison St, they tend to lift the brolly a bit - not realising that just makes it my eye level. I have taken to swatting them (and the brolly) out of the way with my hand.

And another thing. Why is it when you're walking towards a line of 3 or 4 people, who have expanded to fit the whole pavement, that they expect you to get out of their way?

Gaaaaaaah.

Roll on the collapse of so-called `civilization.' An armed society is a polite society.

Strange you mention this, it's the school children that annoy me, hovering around the Greggs or bus stop hogging the whole street. I usually just keep walking right through them with an excuse me with sounds more like excuuuuuuuuuuse me. I did a dance with someone on Morrison St. the other day, was that you? 2 left feet you know...

Well said, sir!

I'm particularly confused, because, were I a midget, and a six foot plus, eighteen stone, heavily tattooed, bearded bloke with a look of death in his eyes came bearing down on me at speed, I would be getting out of the way sharpish.

It hurts them considerably more than it hurts me.
